Tutors must be a certified teacher, a student approved by the subject teacher for whom tutoring is required, or a tutor approved by the subject teacher or the Director of the Scholars Academy.  Regularly assigned guidance counselors, and the Academy Guidance Counselor work directly with faculty to ensure that the needs and concerns of each student are monitored and addressed.
At the beginning of the probationary period a contract will be signed by the student, a parent, the subject teacher and the Director of the Scholars Academy signifying the commitment to the tutoring process. Weekly verification sheets will be submitted to the Director of the Scholars Academy each Monday of the probation period.
Where necessary, teachers and counselors meet with parents and students to address particular concerns and to develop a shared vision of the steps needed to ensure success within the program.
