Recent surveys within the nation, and especially the South Carolina employment community, indicate that seven out of ten job needs for the future will be directly associated with the health sciences. According to the Unites States Bureau of Labor Statistics, by 2010, the health services field will grow by more than 25%, creating nearly three million new jobs. It is imperative to provide opportunities for academically motivated students to establish a foundation for examining the intellectual, ethical, social, and economic interactions related to the health science professions to meet these growing demands.

The Institute for Health Sciences at Ridge View High School is designed to provide learning opportunities and real world experiences in health science related fields. The Institute will provide learning opportunities leading to real world understandings through a rigorous academic program enriched with interactive experiences. Our mission is to engage students in a challenging and competitive educational environment through a comprehensive course of study focused in science and other areas necessary for success in this evolving and rigorous field.
