Writing Assignments:
All English III students will write a response to a non-fiction text, a critical review, an argument, a personal statement, and a research paper (3-5pp.)
Outline pages 498-503 on Whitman and Dickinson in the new literature book; read Whitman's biography and write 15 facts about his life; read Whitman's "I Hear America Singing," explain its meaning and why it appeals to you; read Dickinson's biography and write 15 facts about her life; choose a poem by Dickinson, explain its meaning and why it appeals to you. Write a three-paragraph essay on what you are thankful for this Thanksgiving; underline your thesis.
